Norbrook® has announced the launch of Moxiclear™, a broad spectrum endectocide monthly spot-on for the treatment and prevention of important parasites in dogs, cats and ferrets.

Moxiclear is the latest moxidectin and imidacloprid alternative product on the market. Moxidectin acts systemically to treat lungworm, ear mites, sarcoptic and notoedric mange, gastrointestinal nematodes, skinworm, and to prevent heartworm, whilst imidacloprid acts topically to kill fleas within an hour, as well as biting lice.

Lorron Bright, Norbrook Product Manager, explains that Moxiclear is a convenient and easy to use spot-on, with clear pipettes for improved pet owner compliance as they allow owners to see that the contents of the pipette have been applied fully to an animal.

“Moxiclear offers good value, broad-spectrum parasite control for dogs, cats and ferrets. This latest launch provides our customers with an excellent value, alternative choice for a imidacloprid/moxidectin product.”

Richard Palmer, Norbrook Global Head of Sales and Marketing, says: “Moxiclear spot-on is the 11th product we have launched in the past three years. Six of the new products are in the companion animal sector as we continue to strengthen our foothold in the growing global companion animal market. Norbrook is committed to delivering a strong new product pipeline, along with our multi-year £50 million investment programme.”

In dogs, Moxiclear can be used for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations and as part of a treatment plan for flea allergic dermatitis. Importantly, fleas do not have to bite the pet, coming into contact with a treated pet is sufficient to kill the adult fleas within one hour. It also prevents and treats lungworm, ear mites, sarcoptes mites, biting lice, round worm, hookworm, whipworm, skinworm, and prevents heartworm.

In cats, Moxiclear can be used for the treatment and prevention of flea infestation and flea allergic dermatitis, as well as ear mite infestations. It can also be used to treat notoedric mange, gastrointestinal nematodes; whipworm, roundworm and hookworm, and for the prevention of heartworm disease.

In ferrets, Moxiclear can be used to treat and prevent flea infestation, and prevent heartworm.

Moxiclear is available for 4kg-40kg dogs and are catered for with four pipette fill sizes, while small cats and ferrets weighing less than 4kg are catered for with a 0.4ml pipette. Large cats weighing 4-8kg can be treated with the Moxiclear 0.8ml pipette.
