Norbrook Laboratories Ltd has launched an improved medicated shampoo which is indicated for treating dry and itchy skin while leaving coats deodorised and conditioned.
Clearcoat Shampoo is an improved formulation ketoconazole shampoo which replaces Norbrook’s previous Norclear shampoo.
“Ketoconazole shampoos are common healthcare products in the human healthcare market, treating everything from dry, flaky skin to baldness. In animal health ketoconazole shampoos are less common, but the benefits of this ingredient are just as relevant for our cats and dogs,” explains Michelle Jones, Norbrook’s Small Animal Brand Manager. “Clearcoat Shampoo can be recommended for dogs and cats with cases of scurf on the skin and coat and for particularly dry and itchy skin. Ketoconazole products have also been used to treat fungal infections eg. ringworm. This active ingredient is extremely effective and its inclusion has led to claims that it is as closely effective to the leading prescription antifungal shampoo without the need for a prescription.”
On sale from July, Clearcoat Shampoo is available from veterinary practices as waiting room general sale.
“Clearcoat has been formulated without the use of sulphates and parabens and with ingredients which ensure that it is gentle on pet’s eyes,” adds Michelle. “Clearcoat offers an enhanced lather to make coverage more efficient, a flip top lid for ease of use and cleanliness, and a pleasing scent to remove any unpleasant smells on the animal.
Available in squeezy 300ml and 500ml bottles, Clearcoat can be ordered from wholesalers.
