Novartis Animal Health is launching its final worming campaign materials to assist practices with educating owners about the importance of regular worming during the winter months.
Brock Abreu, Parasiticides Brand Manager at Novartis, comments: “It’s easy to think that just because temperatures are plummeting, pets are safe whilst they are indoors. However, pets are still at risk of picking up parasitic infection, even during the cold spells. The Winter Worming Pack will help practices remind owners about the importance of maintaining a regular worming regime even during the winter months.”
“The European Scientific Counsel Companion Animal Parasites (ESCCAP) recommends a minimum of four worming treatments annually to help minimise the risk of worm infections in pets,” continues Brock. “However, research has revealed that UK pet owners only treat their animals an average of 2.5 times per year.1”
The seasonal information packs provide practical support on how to encourage pet owners to worm their pets a minimum of 4 times per year, or more depending on the pets’ lifestyle and stage of life.
The Novartis Animal Health Winter Worming Pack for vet practices contains:
Covering letter
Waiting room poster
Mobile
Worming risk assessment wobblers
Consumer worming risk assessment booklets
Practice PR support CD
Vet Practices can also sign up for a Pet Reminder Service via www.wormpatrol.co.uk, to ensure pet owners never miss a worm treatment.
For further details about the Winter Worming Pack or the Worm Patrol Campaign, vet practices should contact their Novartis Animal Health Territory Manager.2489 views
