The Blue Cross is delighted to be chosen as Pets At Home’s charity of the year for 2005/6. So far £145,000 has been raised to support our animal welfare work - a fantastic achievement by Pets At Home staff and customers taking them well on the way to achieving the £200,000 target. The relationship was launched in August 2005 and Pets At Home are featuring The Blue Cross in all their stores nationwide, focusing on our rehoming work and raising awareness of responsible pet ownership. Pets At Home raises money by holding competitions and activities in stores. Our Blue Cross cartoon dog, cat and bunny lapel pins are also available at checkouts, raising thousands of pounds so far.. Pets At Home has printed a leaflet to support the charity called Happy Endings Begin with The Blue Cross. Copies are available in all stores, giving information about our work and encouraging readers to donate. Last November our education characters made their first appearance in store. Thousands have been sold and you can support the charity of the year relationship by visiting a Pets At Home store and buying a beanie as £1 from each sale is donated to The Blue Cross. The Blue Cross believes that education is vital in encouraging people to respect and care for animals correctly. This relationship with Pets At Home stores will help us to get our message of responsible pet ownership to thousands of pet owners across the country. Visit Pets At Homes's website
