Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, manufacturer of Buscopan® 20, has donated £600 to Redwings Horse Sanctuary.
The donation follows the company’s support for recent research carried out by the University of Nottingham. The University’s research collated important data from over 1,000 colic cases seen by first opinion veterinary surgeons who entered their data at www.colicsurvey.com. Boehringer pledged money to the charity for every additional online questionnaire on diagnostic approach that was completed.
The cheque was donated by Clare Turnbull, brand and technical manager for Buscopan 20 at Boehringer, to Lynn Cutress, chief executive officer of Redwings, and Nicky Jarvis, head of veterinary services at Redwings.
“We are delighted to be able to make such a large donation to Redwings,” comments Clare. ‘We are currently revealing the results of our questionnaire on diagnostic approaches to our customers and the colic survey group are hoping to present their wider research at the International Colic Symposium in July this year.”
Redwings chief executive officer, Lynn Cutress, adds: "We are thrilled to receive the donation from Boehringer, particularly as the money raised was as a result of vital research that could help even more horses in the future."
Boehringer also awarded an iPad to Rachael Gregson from Donald S McGregor and Partners in Scotland following a prize draw amongst veterinary surgeons participating in the University of Nottingham colic survey.More from
