With the much-anticipated return of ROYAL CANIN’s Healthy Weight Competition, Vet Nurses are encouraged to continue entering candidates. ROYAL CANIN has announced that competitors have until 30th September to submit their entries.

The competition, which aims to encourage and promote a healthy body shape and lifestyle for cats and dogs, has seen positive results. Past success stories have celebrated pets’ throughout their weight loss journey; whether just starting out on a weight loss programme, achieving their ideal shape and weight or persevering to maintain a healthy body shape following weight loss.

With great prizes up for grabs including a £100 shopping voucher for all six finalists and an astounding £1000 holiday voucher for the overall winner, ROYAL CANIN are hoping to receive further applications from practices across the UK and Ireland.

Caroline Burke, Weight Management Specialist at ROYAL CANIN said: “Obesity in the UK is recognised as the most common disease in dogs. With thousands of animals affected, obesity is now at epidemic levels in the UK, with at least 65% of all dogs and 39% of all cats overweight or obese*.

The competition provides an ideal opportunity for practices to identify overweight patients and enrol them on a weight loss programme.

As we are now accepting entries until 30th of September, it is the perfect opportunity for Veterinary Nurses and pet owners to tackle this serious disease together and reward them for their hard work.”
