Learn to optimize this living ecosystem to support the overall health of your patients

TOPEKA, Kan. (June 26, 2019) – With the life-changing potential of the gut microbiome exciting scientists around the world, the role of nutrition in optimizing the micro-organisms of the microbiome is the theme of this year’s Hill’s Global Symposium.

In addition to exploring aspects of nutrition relating to the gut microbiome, speakers at the Symposium will share learnings from the National Institutes of Health’s Human Microbiome Project. They will also discuss progress in novel management approaches, including fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), in human medicine. Social media and client communication gurus will then explore simple and practical approaches that can be used every day to optimize clinic performance in these important areas.

“As veterinarians we look to the latest science to guide us in providing the highest standard of care to our patients,” said Dr. Iveta Becvarova, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVN, Director of Global Academic and Professional Affairs at Hill’s.  “New research highlighting the power of the gut microbiome in influencing the body’s response to acute or chronic disease is advancing veterinary practice.  The world-class experts we are bringing together for this year’s Symposium will create an inspiring and immersive experience which is not to be missed by anyone with an interest in improving pet health through nutrition.”

The full program for Hill’s Global Symposium:  Harnessing the Power of the Gut Microbiome and registration for the livestream and on-demand content is available at www.hillsglobalsymposium.com.

Hill’s will introduce its new HILL’s® Prescription Diet® Gastrointestinal Biome with ActivBiome+™ Canine and Feline during the Symposium.  Developed following extensive research to be unveiled at the event, both foods are formulated with ActivBiome+, an innovative fiber technology, that offers a new approach to gastrointestinal issues.

For each delegate who registers for the Hill’s Global Symposium or for the livestream, Hill’s will make a $1 donation (up to a total amount of $10,000) to Iqaluit Humane Society, which runs the first animal shelter located in the remote Canadian Arctic in the Territory of Nunavut.
