A new social media CPD event has been launched by the Veterinary Marketing Association. Aimed at anyone working in marketing in the animal health industry, Take a Punt on Social Media will help marketers leverage social media to grow and engage their audience.

The event, due to be held at the Voco Hotel in Oxford on 14th September, allows delegates to benefit from the speakers' wealth of experience. And the opportunity for some networking during a lunchtime Punting and Prosecco trip.

Speakers and topics

Cat Henstridge (A.K.A Cat the Vet will cover what’s hot and what’s not in social media.

A thriving and engaging social media presence is a hugely positive marketing tool for veterinary businesses. But creating this takes time, effort and imagination, and there is a growing number of platforms we can post on, each with its unique features, that are evolving all the time. How can marketers keep up? Can they use them all? Should they even try? Cat will take delegates through the leading platforms, how they are different and how they are changing.  She will also discuss what marketers should be posting, where they should be posting and how they can best engage and interact with their followers.

Claire Simper will talk about the power of social media to reach pet owners.

Speaking to pet owners- bridging the gap between pharma marketeers and the social media advocate in practice. Pet parents are seeking more information about their pets online than ever before, and this isn’t going to change anytime soon! Engaging with these pet owners at the right stage of pet ownership through social media channels has become more crucial than ever. This talk will delve into the relationship between veterinary pharma marketing and in-practice social media advocacy, focusing on strategies to create a more inclusive and trustworthy connection with pet owners.

Hamzah Malik of Regent Branding will tackle the subject of AI and how it can be utilised to help grow a social media presence.

Hamzah will discuss the transformative power of AI in the veterinary sector. From personalised pet care to instant access to specialist content, we'll explore the numerous opportunities, potential challenges, and the risks that come with this technological evolution.

Then a round table will follow, chaired by Katie Ford of VETstagram to discuss creating engaging social media content and building online communities.
