Hosted by The Veterinary Marketing Association (VMA), the future of the promotion and supply of prescription medicines will be debated in the prestigious surroundings of the House of Lords.

The impact of the potential ban on advertising medicines to owners and farmers and the possible end of online retailing of medicines to owners and farmers are the headline points for discussion, say the organisers

Hosted by veterinary peer, Lord Trees and chaired by Phil Sketchley, chairman of AMTRA and former chief executive of NOAH, the event is an exclusive opportunity for anyone involved in the veterinary profession to hear from some key thought leaders within both the animal and human health industries, says VMA chair, Claire Edmunds.

“Although it is by no means certain that new legislation affecting ability to promote and sell to owners and farmers will come into force, it could become a reality,” she adds.

The debate includes a panel with; James Davies, from Dr Ed, an online consultation service in human medicine; Hylke Knoop, an independent consultant, specialising in e-commerce within the pet industry; John Blackwell, BVA nominated director of AMTRA, RUMA and former BVA President; and Donal Murphy, NOAH Technical Executive.

Held on Monday June 13th, the formal meeting will be followed by a drinks reception on the riverside House of Lords’ Terrace and lunch in Cholmondeley Room. Tickets are priced at £130 (plus VAT) for members and £160 (plus VAT) for non-members. This includes a three-course meal (with wine).
