Marc Abraham collects the Petplan Special Recognition Award. (L-R) Scott Miller (ITV's This Morning, Joanne Malin (ITV Central News), Marc Abraham, Frankie Boyle (Comedian & host of the Petplan Veterinary Awards 2007).
The great British public voted in their thousands and overwhelmingly decided that Marc was the most deserving of this ‘Oscar’. Marc’s volunteering and charity work balances his more high profile television career, which has catapulted him globally, as he is due to guest star on a Hollywood TV show in May.
Petplan is the world’s leading provider of pet health insurance and hosts the annual Veterinary Awards each April. This year the awards included a new category designed to recognise the invaluable work of popular celebrity vets who highlight and champion animal health and welfare issues in the media with regular TV appearances, documentaries and charity work. The Special Recognition Award was the only award that invited animal lovers to vote for the vet they felt was the most deserving and had gone that extra mile.
