TV personality Dr Scott Miller has been announced as an official ambassador for working horse and donkey charity Brooke today.

To mark World Donkey Day (8 May 2025), This Morning star Dr Scott is showing his support for Brooke and will be visiting its work in Kenya

Dr Scott said: “I have worked with Brooke since visiting their work in Pakistan in 2005, and am honoured to become an Ambassador.

“Donkeys are among the world’s most hardworking yet overlooked animals, and as a vet, I’ve seen firsthand how vital Brooke’s work is.

“Brooke helps more donkeys than any other charity and delivers sustainable, life-saving care for donkeys and the people who rely on them every day.”

Broadcaster Alastair Stewart OBE, Brooke’s Patron, joined Dr Scott this month to announce his ambassador role and celebrate the vital role of donkeys in supporting communities worldwide.

There are over 50 million donkeys globally, most of which work in challenging environments to transport water, food, and goods.

These are intelligent animals who feel pain and emotion just like us, yet are often overlooked, despite supporting over 600 million people.

Brooke provides donkeys with veterinary care, trains owners and lobbies governments for stronger animal welfare laws – particularly to safeguard them against the donkey skin trade

This summer, Brooke is also inviting riders to hack 100 miles over 100 days and raise £100 for Brooke, helping to provide water for over 10,000 donkeys and their owners in Kenya.
