The first annual Vet Charity Challenge took place in September at the Royal Agricultural College and was a great success. Twenty-six teams of four people took part, spending seven hours walking, running, cycling, kayaking, orienteering, along with a few mental physical challenges along the way. Jason Rogers from BCF said, “The Vet Charity Challenge has been a great success, lots of people have used the Challenge to get fitter over the summer, and train as a team with their colleagues. The day was excellent, lots of fun and we have managed to raise a significant sum for three well deserved animal charities. We hope the make the challenge bigger and better in 2013.” Composite of logos SPANA veterinary programme advisor Laura Higham said, “The Vet Charity Challenge was an absolutely fantastic event and we’re so grateful to everyone who took part to raise funds for animal charities including SPANA.  The money raised will help us provide more free veterinary treatment for hardworking horses, donkeys, mules and camels in some of the world’s poorest communities.  Our thanks also go to the Vet Charity Challenge committee for organising such a brilliant fundraiser and for their ongoing support for working animals abroad.” The Vet Charity Challenge was sponsored by BCF Technology, Kruuse, Vets2.net and supported by Mojo Consultancy, VPMA and JCA Media Group. Head Nurse, Angella McNellan from Glenbrae Veterinary Clinic in Bearsden, Glasgow said, “The Vet Charity Challenge has been brilliant fun, beautiful scenery, great challenges. It has really helped get fitter through training as a team after work during the summer. We cannot wait to do it all again next year.” Interested practices can register their interest for 2013 now.
