This month, veterinary nurses are being called upon to assist pet owners with flea education and advice on treatment and prevention in the form of a vlog, in a new competition from the makers of Seresto and Advocate.

The ‘Take it Fleasy’ campaign is inviting vet nurses from across the UK to pick up a camera and film an educational video for their clients on flea prevention and control. The winning entry will receive a state of the art SONOS system worth over £500 as well as a CPD voucher. Three runners up will also receive a £50 Amazon voucher.

The ‘Take it Fleasy’ campaign aims to support practices in providing education and advice on preventive treatments for fleas. With parasiticide brands Advocate and Seresto coming together to provide a broad spectrum of parasite cover, and with new support services being offered to practices, it really is “fleasy” to provide trusted protection.

Vicky McAlister, Senior Brand Manager for Advocate, explains: “Veterinary nurses play a huge role in advising pet owners on the care and well-being of their animals, especially when it comes to parasite control! They are often the first interaction new pet owners have with a practice, during puppy or kitten clinics, and see pets during routine health checks, including offering advice on all things parasites.

“We wanted to highlight the incredible work they do and give vet nurses the opportunity to shine with our new competition. I am excited to see what they can create!”

To enter the competition all you need to do is record yourself giving your tips and tricks for flea prevention and then upload it to your practice’s social media channels. Once your vlog has been live for two weeks you will be required to submit your engagement statistics (video views, reactions, comments and shares) to your local Bayer Veterinary Business Manager. You will then be notified if your submission has been shortlisted to appear on the Vet Times website for the final vote!

Vet Times readers will be asked to vote for their favourite submission, and the one with the most votes wins, it really is that simple!
