She was entertained by her colleagues at surprise tea party to mark the occasion and presented with an animal-themed 'birthday' cake. Mrs Arnold, who lives in Ferndown, has worked at the Verwood branch of Cedar Vets part-time since it opened 25 years ago. Prior to that, she worked at the practice's hospital in Ringwood for a year. Commenting on reaching this milestone, she said: "So much has changed in the veterinary world during my time. When I started, the practice was much smaller and I worked closely with the vet - which I really enjoyed - but our facilities were certainly not what they are today. We even had an outside loo! "Receptionists are often the first people owners meet with when they visit the practice and it can be a stressful time, so we try to put them at their ease, offer support and give general information if required before passing them on to our veterinary colleagues. "I've thoroughly enjoyed working at Cedar Vets and don't know where the years have gone! It's wonderful seeing young puppies and kittens for the first time and following their lives with their owners. It's sad when the end comes but we know that they have had happy lives and have been much loved." She continued: "The celebration was such a surprise! The cake was wonderful and it was lovely to have a small party with some of our loyal clients and staff. I look forward to continuing working at Cedar Vets and perhaps reaching the next milestone!" Darren Lucas, Clinical Director of Cedar Vets, commented: "Our receptionists reflect the ethos of the practice and contribute to our work in a multitude of ways, including looking after clients, animal handling and assisting us with blood testing and other minor procedures. They also help with the counselling of bereaved clients. "Lin has played a pivotal role in the development of Cedar Vets and we count ourselves very lucky to have had such a dedicated, passionate person as part of our team for such a long time. Thank-you Lin." Outside work, Lin Arnold lives with her husband Frank and her cats Moto and Archie. The couple have two grown up children. Cedar Vets' Verwood branch is based on Ringwood Road and can be contacted on 01202 825217. The practice has a 24-hour veterinary hospital in Ringwood and a further branch in Ferndown.
