Vets Now's Innovative Nursing Edge Programme Goes From Strength To Strength

The new Nursing Edge Programme, set up and run by Vets Now’s Head of Clinical Nursing, Racheal Marshall has been a great success since its inception in August 2015 and is now accepting applications for April and August 2016.
The eight week training programme, provides a full induction, leading to a permanent full time position with Vets Now; combining two weeks of lectures and interactive sessions in our Support Office with six weeks practical training. Course content has been designed to give nurses the confidence and skills for emergency work, providing valuable training and a salary from day one.
The business has already welcomed 15 new nurses on board, with the potential to place many more into its small animal out of hours’ clinics across the England, Wales and Scotland.
All successful applicants are supported in practice by an experienced RVN as their mentor throughout their six weeks on the job training in the clinic of their choice.
In addition to this, nurses will also be supported with a directed training plan in their first year; incorporating a mix of online and practical courses. Our Moodle learning platform provides a base on which to share experiences with vets and nurses across the business, enabling newcomers to build their professional and social networks within Vets Now.
