Vets Now Unveils Stellar ECC Congress 2025 Line-up
Vets Now has today announced the programme for the UK’s only dedicated Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Congress, taking place on Thursday 06 and Friday 07 November 2025 at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.
Now in its 22nd year, the ECC Congress continues to be a cornerstone event for veterinary professionals seeking to deepen their expertise in emergency and critical care. This year’s Congress offers an expanded 77 hours of CPD across seven diverse learning streams, including hands-on workshops, interactive case discussions, and practical small-group sessions.
New for 2025, the Congress introduces a “Back to the Future” stream, exploring the latest cutting-edge research and innovations shaping the future of clinical practice. Delegates will also benefit from access to full session recordings, allowing them to revisit content at their convenience.
The 2025 programme features 35 inspirational speakers from across the globe, delivering content across seven diverse learning streams tailored to all levels of ECC experience—from new graduates to advanced practitioners.
Among the standout speakers this year are Elle Haskey, ECC specialist and RVN at the Royal Veterinary College, Helen Philp a Criticalist at UC Davis in California, and Matt Rendle an RVN with experience in nursing care for many species from ants to elephants (and everything in between!), each bringing unique expertise and insight to the programme.
Racheal Marshall, RVN and Head of Clinic Nursing Standards at Vets Now, and Simon Hagley, ECC Specialist and Clinical Director at Vets Now Manchester, have once again led the programme design. They are joined by Helen Rooney, RVN and Referral Nurse Training & Development Lead at IVC Evidensia, and national ECC lead Dan Lewis, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging agenda.
Simon Hagley said:
“We’ve built this year’s programme around delegate feedback, bringing back favourites like our ‘Controversies’ and ‘Joined Up Thinking’ sessions, while introducing new content that reflects the evolving landscape of ECC such as antimicrobial theory and practice, discussion panels on important consensus statements, and a stream looking at cutting edge medical developments and treatment modalities. Whether you’re just starting out or working at an advanced level, there’s something here for you.”
Racheal Marshall added:
“Our goal is to create a dynamic, interactive learning environment. From practical workshops to non-clinical sessions on wellbeing and communication, we’re equipping delegates with the tools they need to thrive in high-pressure ECC settings.”
From foundational content for GPs and RVNs to advanced clinical sessions for certificate holders and specialist trainees, the Congress programme blends practical skill-building with thought-provoking discussion designed to suit all levels of experience. Highlights include the new “Back to the Future” stream and a non-technical workshop focused on teamwork, communication, and resilience in high-pressure environments.
Beyond the lecture halls, Congress 2025 promises a vibrant social scene. The Thursday night Gala Dinner returns with a new theme to be revealed soon via Vets Now’s social media channels. Delegates can also unwind with VetYogi sessions, mindfulness activities, and a morning running club.
Woodley Equipment once again returns as headline sponsor of the event.
