Vets Now has announced the full programme for ECC Congress 2026, the UK’s only dedicated Emergency and Critical Care congress, taking place on Thursday 05 and Friday 06 November at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.

Now in its 23rd year, the event will offer a packed exhibition space and 80 hours of CPD across seven learning streams, with access to session recordings included so delegates can revisit content after the event.

The programme features more than 30 speakers from the UK and overseas, covering topics including ECC anaesthesia, advanced surgical techniques, oncology, diagnostics, sepsis, nursing care and complex case management. This year’s keynote speaker is Professor Patrick Pollock, Professor at the University of Glasgow.

Confirmed speakers include one of the biggest names in ECC, Professor Kate Hopper (University of California, USA) alongside Associate Professor Claire Sharp (Murdoch University, Perth, Western Australia) and Marlaina Hrosch (VEG ER for Pets, New York, USA).  Kate Hopper will be covering a range of topics, including ‘100 years of ECC… What have we learnt?’

Designed for vets, RVNs and teams at different stages of their careers, the programme combines practical workshops, case-based discussion and non-technical sessions focused on communication, teamwork and wellbeing.

Racheal Marshall, RVN and Head of Nursing Standards at Vets Now, said:

“Our focus is on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. From clinical sessions and hands-on workshops through to non-technical topics such as communication, teamwork and wellbeing, Congress is designed to equip delegates with the tools they need to thrive in high-pressure ECC settings.”

Simon Hagley, ECC Specialist and Clinical Director at Vets Now Referrals Manchester, added:

“We’ve designed the 2026 programme to give delegates as much value as possible from their time at Congress. Pricing has been held at 2025 rates, while this year’s programme offers 80 hours of CPD, seven learning streams and access to session recordings after the event - giving attendees even more opportunities to tailor their learning and revisit content long after Congress ends.  We’re particularly excited to welcome Kate Hopper to our event this year, she’s widely considered one of the biggest stars in ECC and co-editor of THE core ECC textbook.

“As always, we’ve built the programme around real-world ECC practice - bringing together practical skills, clinical discussion and emerging topics, so whether you’re early in your career or working at an advanced level, there’s something here for you.”

Beyond the lecture programme, delegates can also attend the Thursday evening Gala Dinner and wellbeing activities including VetYogi, masseur and a morning running club.

Woodley Equipment and DMS are sponsoring the event.
