The Vets4Pets Darlington team, family and friends completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on the 28th September for the Guide Dogs charity. A gruelling walk, covering 25 miles and a total ascent of over 5000ft which included Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. The team comprised of Veterinary Surgeons Rob Reid and Natasha Sangherra, Nurses Chantel Brocklebank and Heather Irving, Receptionist Jen Mitchell and their family and friends along with their four-legged mascot Finlay.
Chantel said “I feel extremely proud of everyone who took part in the challenge and how well we have done. Everyone had a fantastic day, it was tough and by far the most I have ever walked myself but we had great spirit and completed the challenge in 11 hours and 40 minutes, within our 12 hour target. Whilst our energy was beginning to lag it was only spurred on by Finlay who must have walked twice what we had during the day”
The team have managed to raise nearly £700 so far, their Just Giving page is still open and every little helps so please give generously at http://www.justgiving.com/chantel-brocklebankYTP2441 views
