Vets4Pets Recognising Key Role Vet Nurses Play In Practice
Vets4Pets has launched a new Veterinary Nurse Awareness campaign to help increase recognition and raise awareness of the integral role veterinary nurses play in practice.
The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the amazing work that veterinary nurses do.
It will focus on the variety of nurse clinics and appointments available to clients, and encourage pet owners to engage with nurses when visiting a practice.
Vets4Pets is hoping the on-going campaign will highlight the contribution from and achievements of veterinary nurses, including Helen Russell from Vets4Pets in Woking, who was named Veterinary Nurse of the Year at the Petplan Veterinary Awards.
“The role of a veterinary nurse is varied and often covers anaesthetist, radiographer, dental hygienist, dietician and friend,” said Helen.
“That’s why the Veterinary Nurse Awareness campaign is a great idea to continually support and recognise vet nurses and make us feel like such a special part of the practice.
“The campaign will play an important role in supporting a practice’s team of vet nurses, nurse assistants and receptionists, and raising awareness of the work they do for clients.”
Sally Hopson, CEO of the Pets at Home Vet Group, said: “Vet nurses are a fundamental part of every vet practice and provide vital support and care to pets and their owners.
“This campaign is all about recognising how important and amazing veterinary nurses are in all of our practices.
“Colleagues like Helen make us incredibly proud. She inspires others in the team to reach their full potential, and is committed to developing herself and her team.
“We encourage our colleagues to push themselves to reach their full potential and pursue higher goals.”
Helen’s success hasn’t been limited to awards this year; she recently became a practice owner of Vets4Pets Byfleet with vet partner, Steve Brawley MRCVS.
“Veterinary nurses are the heartbeat of a practice and it’s important that the vital services they carry out are recognised and rewarded,” added Helen.
“Nurses hold their own consultations every day and help with any issues or queries owners have about keeping their pet healthy, including diet, vaccinations and cleaning teeth.
“And this campaign will help clients understand just how much work and support veterinary nurses provide to pets and their owners.”
