VetSkill Delivers Over 100 OSCEs!

VetSkill is delighted to announce the successful delivery of its first round of 118 OSCE's last month, resulting in 86 students being able to proceed to the final step in their professional journey to become an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse.

Over the weekend of the 28th and 29th November VetSkill held OSCE's in Leeds and Cambridgeshire for 31 apprentices undertaking their end point assessments and 87 City & Guilds Diploma student veterinary nurses. The pass rate for apprentices was 84% and for Diploma students it was 69%, making the overall pass rate 72%.

Following the successful completion of the RCVS quality assurance processes, the results were published on time by VetSkill, on the 18th December.

Greg Warman Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of VetSkill said "I am delighted by this first round of VetSkill OSCE's being successfully completed during these particularly challenging times’ He added ‘It would not have been possible without the dedication of the VetSkill team of examiners and support staff lead by VetSkill’s Qualification Manager, Sam Double.’

During 2021, VetSkill has scheduled the following OSCE dates. Student veterinary nurses being trained using the apprenticeship standard in veterinary nursing will be invited to choose an OSCE date once they have passed through the apprenticeship gateway and have passed their professional discussion. Diploma students may apply via their training provider.

16th – 17th January 2021 - Leeds & North London
27th – 28th February 2021 - Wigan - North London
24th – 25th April 2021 - Huntingdon & Leeds
26th – 27th June 2021 - North London, Wigan & Edinburgh 4th – 5th September 2021 – Venue TBC

16th – 17th October 2021 – Venue TBC 4th – 5th December 2021 – Venue TBC

Based near Cambridge, VetSkill is an End Point Assessment Organisation as well as an Awarding Organisation offering a range of qualifications regulated by Ofqual and CCEA to over 20 centres across the UK. It is also approved to operate a register for Suitably Qualified Person’s (SQP).
