Innovative live interview brings opportunity to interact with internal medicine specialists

A live and interactive webinar interview on “Gastrointestinal disorders: advantages and limitations of video-endoscopy”, taking place on 7th June at 7pm BST (8pm CEST) will provide essential information for veterinary professionals about this rapid and non-invasive technique which enables the early detection of internal lesions. The innovative Purina® Pro Plan® live interview with Valérie Freiche will be presented by Jorge Castro and will give participants the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the experts. Veterinary professionals can sign up for the event at register.gi-disorders-webinar2023.com

Valérie Freiche DMV, PhD, French Specialist in Internal Medicine (DESV-MI) is a member of the Internal Medicine Department of Alfort Vet School, and vice president of the ECVIM-European Society of Comparative Gastroenterology (ESCG). She has a particular interest in digestive oncology and interventional endoscopy.

She will be joined in discussion and interviewed by Jorge Castro DVM, MSc, PhD, Dipl ECVIM-CA (Med Int), a EBVS European Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine (Dipl. ECVIM-CA Internal Medicine) and certified in Feline Medicine and Internal Medicine by the Spanish Small Animal Veterinary Association (AVEPA). He is co-head of the Internal Medicine Service at the Anicura Valencia Sur Hospital Veterinario.

The webinar will be conducted in English and simultaneously translated into Spanish, Italian, German and French. Participants are encouraged to ask their own questions which should result in a lively and practical session.

Video-endoscopy is valuable in the early diagnosis of gastrointestinal disorders in companion animals.

As a result of the growing global pet population, demand for less invasive procedures in veterinary medicine, technological developments, awareness of zoonotic diseases and adoption by veterinary practices to increase profits, video-endoscopy is being increasingly utilised in practice. The global market for this service is expected to grow annually by 7.77% between 2023 and 2030.1

Alessandra Paroli DVM- GPCert (SAN), of Nestle Purina Petcare Europe’s Scientific and Communication Partnership, said “We are pleased to support veterinary professionals in learning from the experts to use video endoscopy in cases of gastrointestinal disorders. The technique offers many benefits to pets, and our live webinar interview will offer participants an unrivalled opportunity to engage with renowned specialists, ask questions, and gain the most up to date information to use in their own practice.”
