**25% discount for bookings before 31st March 2026 ** This is a course aimed at providing the basic knowledge and understanding of the key principles of thoracic surgery, with a mix of lectures and practical sessions. Candidates will learn the key approaches of the thoracic cavity as well as some of the more commonly performed procedures in the thorax, such as a lung lobectomy and pericardiectomy.

Topics to be covered
Equipment and instrumentation
Anesthesia and analgesia techniques
Thoracostomy tube placement
Thoracic surgical approaches
Lung lobectomy
Pericardiectomy
Surgical conditions of the thorax including pneumothorax, pyothorax, patent ductus arteriosus

This course would be ideally suited towards general and advanced practitioners who are relevantly confident with their general surgical skills and are looking to understand and gain confidence in how to perform thoracic surgery.
