Wednesday 3rd July 2019This one day course is aimed at increasing your familiarity and confidence with both recording and interpreting ECGs. ECGs provide invaluable information about heart rate and rhythm in our canine and feline patients. However, ECGs are often underutilised as a diagnostic tool in practice, due to a lack of confidence amongst vets in how to interpret the ECG findings and their clinical significance for the individual patient. Management options for the different arrhythmias can cause confusion. This course will aim to simplify arrhythmia diagnosis and management and will utilise an ECG-reading workshop session, to give delegates hands-on practice in ECG interpretation and plenty of opportunity for informal discussion.Topics to be covered include:How to use your ECG machine and improve the quality of the traces you recordHow to develop a logical approach to ECG trace interpretationHow to identify the different types of bradycardias and tachycardias most commonly encountered in our canine and feline patientsHow to recognise the clinical significance of these different arrhythmias, to enable you to choose the most appropriate management optionsReinforce your knowledge and understanding of canine and feline arrhythmias through case study examples and a practical ECG workshop componentwww.centralcpd.co.ukwww.vet-ecpd.com
