Feline and canine diabetes is something as veterinary professionals we see within practice on a regular basis. These cases may present as an acute emergency, requiring intensive nursing care or be diagnosed from consultations, such as obesity clinics. To help owners manage their pets condition it is vital that we understand the physiology of diabetes mellitus and how to manage it both in the short and long term, whether as an in-patient or through out-patient care.
