Essential skills for vets routinely seeing equine dermatology cases will be covered with the morning practicals aimed at diagnostic sampling, cytology and histology.
The afternoon session will then be split into lectures and practicals on laser surgery techniques, specifically tailored towards it’s use in dermatology cases. Delegates will be given the chance to handle a variety of surgical lasers with cadaver-based training.
Learning Outcomes:
Develop the knowledge and skills needed to choose appropriate diagnostic sampling methods for common dermatology cases and correctly handle and prepare the acquired samples for interpretation.
Develop and demonstrate the ability to diagnose common cytology and histology samples and relate these to equine pathology.
Develop the ability to identify when excisional laser surgery would be appropriate in the management of equine dermatology cases.
Demonstrate the surgical skills and techniques needed to safely perform excisional laser surgery in practice.
