Start time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

For budding orthopaedic surgeons in first-opinion practice, getting started is tough. Choosing suitable cases to manage in-house with a limited bank of equipment can prove to be slow progress. This course is aimed at surgeons looking to cut their teeth in fracture repair, as well as surgeons looking to revise the practical components of first-opinion fracture repair.
The day is split between essential fracture planning to ensure correct case selection whilst leaving lots of time for cadaver-based practical work where all of the following procedures can be practiced at leisure:
Repair of tibial crest avulsion fractures
Repair of distal femoral physeal fractures
Repair of long oblique femoral fractures
Placing safe normograde intramedullary pins into the femur, tibia and metatarsals/metacarpals.
Candidates may request to practice anatomical approaches and pin/wire techniques with the specialists tailored to their individual needs.
