A mix of lectures and practical sessions, the day will consists of:



Lectures covering the presenation, assessment and stabilisation of patients suffering from traumatic hip luxation.
A review of the options available for management of traumatic hip luxation, and patient assessment as it relates to selection of the most appropriate management strategy.
A review management of complications and revision surgeries.
A practical lab session where the surgical techniques for hip toggle placement, iliofermoral suture, and femoral head and neck excision arthroplasty are performed.


Learning Outcomes:

Delegates will be able to:

Assess and stabilise patients presenting after suffering traumatic hip luxation.
Develop an understanding of the relative strengths and weaknesses of the available management techniques for hip luxation, and use this information to make appropriate case-based decisions
Perform hip toggle, iliofermoral suture, and femoral head and neck excision arthroplasty surgeries for management of traumatic hip luxation.
Advise clients on the risks of case management options, and present appropriate plans in the event of complications.
