A Guildford veterinary practice has opened the doors to its state-of-the-art new £1.4 million surgery.

Alder Veterinary Practice has relocated to a new purpose-built, 5,000 sq ft surgery in Queen Elizabeth Park, Railton Road, just five minutes from its previous location in the town’s Worplesdon Road.

The move represents a significant investment by Alder and its parent group Linnaeus, with facilities including separate dog and cat waiting areas, a dedicated exotics ward, two operating theatres and a dental suite, as well as a pharmacy and dedicated on-site parking spaces.

The practice will also be working towards achieving the prestigious International Society of Feline Medicine gold cat-friendly status to ensure it is accredited as the very highest level of cat-friendly clinic.

Elizabeth Wozniak, lead clinical director at Alder Vets, said the practice ensures Alder can continue to provide the highest level of care and treatment for patients and clients.

She said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for Alder and this new £1.4 million practice is a really clear signal that we are committed to delivering a level of excellence in treatment and care which is second to none.

“It is a huge move for us in every way. The increased size of the practice has enabled us to expand our facilities further and ensure we remain at the very forefront of animal care.

“The team here are all incredibly excited to be here and we’re excited to be held up as a flagship practice model for other primary care surgeries within Linnaeus.”

Alder will also be working with national accreditation scheme Investors in the Environment (iiE) to introduce a bold green initiative to substantially reduce its environmental impact and enhance its sustainability.

Elizabeth, who is also lead clinical director at fellow Linnaeus practices, Oak Barn Vets in Guildford and Crofts Veterinary Practice in Haslemere, added: “Delivering the highest standards and quality of care to our patients, and providing an excellent working environment to all members of our team are key priorities for me.

“We are also passionate about contributing to the environment and offsetting our carbon footprint, which is why we will be teaming up iiE to help us achieve our sustainability ambitions when our new practice opens its doors.”
