Everyone takes euthanasias very seriously. However, many personnel are untrained in grief and client communication. And most practices don’t take a total approach to client-care at animals’ end-of-life. This is creating unintended problems:- Clients: ~30% struggle with their grief and ~20% are haunted by their euthanasia decision.
- The Team: ~25%+ of veterinary nurses and vets have compassion fatigue. Also, many receptionists find taking payment and returning ashes very uncomfortable.
- The Practice: ~14% of bereaved clients who get another animal change practices.
- Update their knowledge of grief for animals, including horses.
- Boost their client-communication skills (no role play, but those who want can sign up for that later).
- Share ideas and take away a total client-care protocol that’s tailored to their practice—so it’s easy for them and management to put all their learning into action.
