British Veterinary Receptionist Association Qualification Receives Professional Recognition.

The British Veterinary Receptionist Association (BVRA) is delighted to announce the BVRA Foundation Course is now an approved iPET Network Professional Development Recognition (PDR) course. Anyone completing the BVRA Foundation Course will receive a joint BVRA/iPET Network Certificate of Achievement. BVRA is also working on an exciting project with the Awarding Organisation iPET Network to create an Ofqual Regulated qualification in the sector, which will be available in the autumn 2023.
BVRA CEO, Kay Watson-Bray commented, “We have been listening to our members and their employers and identified the quality assurance that comes with regulation is a really important aspect of accredited CPD. This initiative will give veterinary receptionists the opportunity to gain an official qualification with transferable credits that they can use as a steppingstone to higher education and will provide a defined career path.”
In addition, BVRA has recently relaunched what was the Registered Veterinary Receptionist (RVR) as the new BVRA Associate Veterinary Receptionist (AVR). Being an AVR will give BVRA members further membership benefits, training and status. The AVR will remain the recognised industry standard and will continue to be a sign of ongoing commitment and quality.
BVRA Associate Members are affiliated with the only official veterinary body for veterinary receptionists and existing RVR’s will automatically be transferred to AVR status. Included in BVRA membership is a wealth of membership benefits including free access to training courses provided by industry leaders such as the Veterinary Defence Society Training, feline specialist Sarah Caney MRCVS, Dogs Trust, International Cat Care, Pet Plan, and Virbac, with many more courses in development.
Kay commented, “It’s an exciting time for veterinary receptionists who have previously had limited career path opportunities. BVRA is committed to provide the most up to date, relevant CPD created by industry experts.”
