CVS (UK) Ltd has been awarded the Top 100 Accelerator Award in the annual business awards run by the Eastern Daily Press, the leading regional paper in Norfolk where the company, the UK’s largest and fastest growing veterinary group, is based.  The award was presented at a gala dinner in Norwich on Thursday 3 November 2016.

The Top 100 Accelerator is awarded to a major company in Norfolk which has shown that it is a successful and innovative business and that it is able to adapt to meet market challenges and to seek out new opportunities.   The sponsors of this year’s Top 100 Accelerator Award, law firm Mills & Reeve, accountants PwC and property consultants Roche, assessed the top 100 companies in Norfolk on the basis of the leadership they had shown through their approach to business and their commitment to diversity and strong corporate governance before announcing CVS as the winner.

They said of CVS: “This has been a year of growth for CVS, but also one of diversification.  As well as making a series of acquisitions, the veterinary group has established specialist referral centres and laboratories and developed a range of complementary product lines to enhance its overall package. These include offering a comprehensive pet welfare scheme and its own-label medicines.  The company has a strong management structure which looks back in on itself and has very effective employee engagement.”

Nick Perrin, Finance Director at CVS, commented: “2016 has been another exceptional year for CVS.  We have experienced strong growth and have continued to build our presence across all areas of the veterinary sector.  With our HQ in Norfolk and many thriving CVS practices across East Anglia, this region is very important to us and we are honoured to win this Award.”

The EDP Top 100 Accelerator Award is the third business award for CVS in the last year.  In October 2015, it was named ‘Company of the Year’ in the 2015 AIM Awards and, in January 2016, Simon Innes, Chief Executive of CVS, was named Chief Executive Officer of the Year in the annual Grant Thornton Quoted Company of the Year Awards.

Key to its success is CVS' ability to attract ambitious veterinary staff whilst continuing to invest in the development of their clinical skills and in research to drive the profession forward.  It also provides the business support to ensure its diverse range of small animal; large animal and equine practices achieve their full potential.  CVS' guiding principles include a commitment to excellence in all aspects of its work and a focus on building long-term relationships with its customers and suppliers.  The company works in close partnership with the wider veterinary profession and industry colleagues.
