Ceva Animal Health has reformulated Allevinix, its farm-friendly, multi-species, flunixin-based NSAID.

Offering flexibility in all areas, Allevinix is the only flunixin licensed for both intravenous (I/V) and intramuscular (I/M) administration over one to three days in cattle, enabling follow-up doses to be given with minimal cost and inconvenience.  It features an easy to remember dose rate of 4ml per 100kg liveweight in cattle, aiding accurate dosing on-farm, and it has short milk withdrawal times, reducing loses, of 24 hours after I/V injection and 36 hours after I/M injection.

Allevinix is fast-acting, reaching peak plasma levels (CMax) approximately 30 minutes following I/M injection, supporting a rapid recovery, and 100ml and 250ml vials are available, which make it ideal for in-car or on-farm.  It is indicated in a range of species, to provide flexibility for mixed practices, and is licensed to treat cattle, pigs and horses.

Peter Keyte, ruminant business unit manager at Ceva Animal Health, comments: “Allevinix is the only flunixin licensed for both intramuscular and intravenous administration in cattle and provides both vets and farmers with a cost-effective, fast-acting and versatile NSAID that is a useful addition to the range of NSAID options available.”

Allevinix joins Ketofen and Meloxidyl as part of the Ceva NSAID family; a popular and trusted range available from one manufacturer.  Ceva’s range of NSAIDs can now help manage pain and inflammation across a broad spectrum of conditions.  These include pain and inflammation, lameness, mastitis, respiratory disease, post calving, gastro-intestinal and post dehorning.
