Ceva Launches New Mitral Valve Disease Website For Dog Owners
Ceva Animal Health has unveiled an informative new website to educate dog owners on mitral valve disease (MVD).
It is estimated that approximately 10% of dogs presented to primary care veterinary practices have heart disease and MVD is the most common heart disease of dogs, accounting for approximately 75% of heart disease cases.
The website – www.dogheartdisease.com – contains a wealth of easy to understand information to support owners whose dogs are suspected of having MVD and explain the progression of the disease. The website helps owners to understand the condition, stages of disease, monitoring and treatment and includes useful videos and downloads including a Sleeping Respiratory Rate (SRR) chart and a link to the Cardalis App which can measure a dog’s SRR, record it as a graph and email it to the vet treating the animal. It also features a comprehensive polypharmacy guide to help ensure optimum compliance.
“MVD is one of the most common diseases to affect older dogs and diagnosis can be a worrying time for owners,” comments Nicki Glen, marketing project manager at Ceva Animal Health. “The new website will help increase knowledge on MVD among dog owners and provide reassurance that they are doing all they can to care for their dog with heart disease.”
