CVS Boosts Pay As It Enhances Package For Colleagues
Commitment made to pay a minimum of 3% more than the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage across the business
CVS Group, one of the UK's leading providers of integrated veterinary services, today announces a comprehensive package of enhanced pay for colleagues as it further invests in its people to become the veterinary employer of choice.
As the cost of living in the UK continues to rise, CVS has undertaken a number of actions to support its valued people. The company is committing to pay a minimum of 3% more than the current National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage to colleagues, including those who have not yet joined the business, a rate which had already increased by up to 6.5% in April of this year.
CVS has already led the industry on a number of initiatives to improve the package of benefits it provides to colleagues, with several progressive steps taken over recent years. The business was proud to be the first veterinary group to provide enhanced pay during maternity leave, and also offers colleagues up to eight weeks holiday in total each year, which includes the option to buy up to two weeks of holiday and rewards to colleagues for long periods of service.
Alongside the pay improvements, CVS is implementing a range of working practices designed to enhance colleagues' wellbeing and work/life balance, including improved out-of-hours cover. The Group is also focused on providing industry-leading career development opportunities for colleagues, including through its advanced clinical services network and also the Learning, Education and Development department, which has enrolled over 800 colleagues onto apprenticeships to date.
In light of the increased demand for its high-quality veterinary services, CVS is also significantly upgrading its facilities and equipment, enabling colleagues to deliver leading levels of care in workplaces they can be proud of. Over 50 site refurbishments and relocations are currently in action.
Ben Jacklin, Chief Operating Officer at CVS, commented:
“At CVS, over the last few years we have been pursuing our clear vision is to be the veterinary company people most want to work for, and we value every single one of our colleagues across the group, not least those colleagues on lower pay ranges across a range of support roles who are critical to us providing the best possible care to animals.
"At a time when the cost of living is on the rise, we felt that to truly deliver on our vision we needed to act now and make a commitment to support colleagues with these cost pressures.”
