Dechra Hosts Series Of Equine CPD Roadshows

Veterinary product specialist Dechra will host a series of free roadshows this autumn focusing on the diagnosis, treatment and management of common problems when keeping the sports horse on the road.
The three Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events will be held at Wetherby Racecourse on October 13, Chelmsford Racecourse on November 10, and The Racecourse, Newbury, on November 25.
Phil Cramp, BSc BVM&S MS Dip ACVS & ECVS MRCVS, will lead all three events.
Guest speakers include Jonathan Anderson, Dip ACVS BVM&S MRCVS, and Dr Richard Reardon, BVetMed (Hons) MVM PhD CertES (Orth) Dip ECVS MRCVS, in Wetherby, Ceri Sherlock, BVetMed (Hons) MS Dip ACVS MRCVS, in Chelmsford, and Henry O’Neill, MVB DVM MS Dip ACVS MRCVS, and Julian Wain, BVSc CertAVP(ESO) MRCVS, in Newbury.
The roadshows begin with registration and a buffet at 7pm followed by talks on keeping horses on the road, the and navicular bone and bisphosphonates: old dog and new tricks. They will be followed by a panel discussion and then a question and answer session.
Dechra Brand Manager Emma Jennings said: “Sport horses are commonly placed under great strain which all too often can result in poor performance. These CPD events will involve a set of short lectures by highly experienced experts in their field, outlining the diagnosis and management of common problems seen in the sport horse followed by an interactive case based discussion.
“These events are targeted at veterinary professionals including vets, nurses and equine physiotherapists and anyone attending the events can also bring their own cases and radiographs to discuss if they wish and get expert opinion on diagnosis and treatment.”
