Dechra Updates Intra-Epicaine Packaging
Dechra has updated its packaging for Intra-Epicaine 20 mg/ml solution for injection for horses which will now feature a flip cap seal on its vial.
The flip cap seal was introduced following valuable customer feedback from vets in practice, with the vial’s new cap making it easier to use while reducing handling of the rubber stopper, helping to minimise contamination risk.
Intra-Epicaine contains mepivacaine hydrochloride as its active ingredient and is indicated for infiltration, nerve block, intra-articular and epidural anaesthesia. Sterility is critical while using Intra-Epicaine for diagnostic analgesia during the identification of lameness in horses and the change to the vial will support the observation of aseptic precautions.
“Dechra strives to ensure that its products are as easy to administer as possible and carries out comprehensive research with its customers to identify improvements to both the company’s product range and its packaging,” comments Bex Glasgow, equine field support manager at Dechra. “Intra-Epicaine’s new flip cap seal will ensure that it is easier to use while reducing the risk of contamination during diagnostic analgesia when used as part of lameness investigations.”
