Speaking during a visit to the Zoo she commented: “The research, education and conservation work that the zoo does is really important, and it was fascinating to hear about everything they're doing to help animals both here and in the wild.” Emma was given a tour of the Zoo by Claire Pipe, Head of Education, and John Buchan, Head of Primates, during which she learnt about the various conservation projects that are taking place and visited the £3 million Himalaya Centre that was opened last year. “I really enjoyed my visit to Twycross Zoo. I have always loved zoos and had a great time touring all the animals, learning about their conservation, seeing the new art gallery and my highlight, feeding the Lemurs!” She went on to say: “Twycross Zoo is a very special place, which the East Midlands can be proud of. I look forward to supporting their continued expansion and to a return visit as Keeper for a Day."
