Former Olympian Launches New Mobile Vet Service Providing Dedicated End Of Life Care

Former Olympian, Ms Lisbet Stuer-Lauridsen, has launched a new mobile service for pet owners that will complement end of life care offered by veterinary practices. Cloud 9 Vets will offer quality of life assessments, euthanasia and palliative care in the comfort of the pet owner’s home. The service will be delivered by veterinary surgeons registered with the service – this will include mobile vets, locums and veterinary practices.

The service offers another revenue stream, allowing vets to benefit from a source of caring and committed clients who want the best for their pet. It also allows vets working with it to select the days or hours they wish to work.  This makes it an ideal choice for those who can only commit to limited time around family or other commitments. This flexibility will allow practices to ensure their clients always have access to high quality, caring home visits for end-of-life care, without putting additional pressure on employees at busy times or out of hours.

Vets currently working with Cloud 9 have told the company’s founder that they found it difficult to offer the compassionate care pet owners need during a 15 minute consult in a busy practice. The new service ensures they have time to spend with the grieving owner to help support them at this sensitive time. The pet doesn’t have to experience the potential anxiety involved in transport to the practice and the owner doesn’t have to worry about trying to hide their grief from other clients in the waiting room, or driving home in a distressed state.

Vets applying to join the service receive specific training in euthanasia and counselling for all members of the family. The average visit time is expected to be around 1.5 hours to allow the procedure to be carried out with the utmost sensitivity and care.

All the paperwork required, including payment, is handled by Cloud 9, allowing vets to focus on the welfare of the pet and the relationship with the pet owner. Vets providing the service simply invoice Cloud 9 Vets.

Cloud 9 Vets also offers additional services such as a memory wall and pet cremation to ensure that all aspects of end of life care can be handled seamlessly. Pet owners make their booking with dedicated Care Coordinators ensuring that every point of contact is handled with dignity and respect.

Lisbet is now opening up opportunities for vets throughout the country to sign up with Cloud 9’s mobile service, “We want to offer the service in as many locations as possible and welcome the opportunity to work with locums, mobile vets and practices.”
