With a focus on all things feline, Royal Canin is hosting a free seminar on emerging cat diseases, combined with a look at new trends in client education at this year’s London Vet Show.
The seminar, which runs from 1.15 – 2.45pm on Thursday 15 November, will see two specialists explore new clinical approaches for four key feline diseases – hepatic lipidosis, feline infectious peritonitis, hyperaldosteronism and acromegaly. Allison German has a PhD in feline retroviruses and has held Liverpool University’s Feline Lectureship for six years. She is joined at the event by the past president of BSAVA Grant Petrie, who has a particular interest in endocrine disease.
Guests at the seminar (to be held in the Business Theatre) will also hear from Brian Faulkner - a vet with a Masters in psychology and many years’ experience as a communications skills coach – as he talks about new methods of communicating with clients. As part of his presentation, he will help to launch of Royal Canin’s new client education tool – Catom. The unique cat owner education software can be downloaded onto PCs and Macs to be used by vets and vet nurses to support the explanations given to cat owners during consultations.
