Gyles BrandrethFollowing his huge success at the 2013 Petplan Veterinary Awards, broadcaster Gyles Brandreth will be returning once again as compère to the highly anticipated 2014 Petplan Veterinary Awards. With a colourful career that has spanned politics to theatre, journalism to TV, Gyles will be returning once again to reward the profession’s best of the best. “It is an honour and a pleasure to be invited back to host the Veterinary Awards, comments Gyles. I know a lot of vets – including my son-in-law – and admire their sheer hard work and dedication to the job. The Veterinary Awards provide the opportunity to salute the very best of vets in the profession as well as the wider and highly valued supporting team of nurses and receptionists. I am looking forward to again celebrating the work that they do.” Simon Masding, Petplan’s Head of Sales and Partnerships added: “Last year we were inundated with positive feedback from the 250 strong veterinary audience at the awards evening, who were all won over by the unique wit and charm of Gyles. We are delighted to have him return once again to host the proceedings and share his humorous insight into the veterinary world, which delighted last year’s audience.” Celebrating the fifteenth year of these prestigious awards, Petplan is once again excited to recognise the outstanding service that the profession provides, and more importantly to reward those whose passion, hard work and dedication has helped pets and pet owners across the UK. Nominations for Vet of the Year, Vet Nurse of the Year, Vet Practice of the Year, Vet Support Staff of the Year, Practice Manager of the Year and Petplan Insurance Advisor of the Year are open until the 31st January, so if you haven’t already, visit petplanvet.co.uk to print nomination forms and find out more about promoting these awards to your clients. Nominations are judged by an independent panel of industry experts and the finalists are invited to attend the glittering award ceremony held at Birmingham Town Hall on Thursday 3rd April 2014.
