Following the success of Horse & Country TV’s ‘Vet Essentials’ veterinary advice series, the station has announced that it will premiere a new episode on ‘Care of the Competition Horse’.

Sponsored by Equitop Myoplast, the unique amino acid supplement which supports lean muscle development in horses, this new programme will premiere on Horse & Country TV (Sky 253 and online with H&C Play) at 9.00pm on Friday 28 August.  It is presented by Jenny Rudall, who will interview some of the UK’s leading veterinary surgeons to gain an insight into advice on the care of the competition horse, including exploring respiratory problems, muscle disease and tendon injuries.

The veterinary surgeons interviewed by Jenny include: Lewis Smith, European and RCVS Specialist in Equine Surgery; Tim Barnett, European Specialist in Equine Surgery; and Carolin Gerdes, all of whom are from Rossdales Equine Hospital and Diagnostic Centre in Newmarket and Professor Cathy McGowan, Head of Equine Division at the University of Liverpool.

The new episode follows the hugely successful three-part Vet Essentials series, which can still be viewed on the channel, which focused on some of the most commonly encountered and debilitating equine diseases – laminitis, Cushing’s disease (PPID) and colic.
