Jo Halfacre, a veterinary surgeon at Portland Road Veterinary Surgery in East Grinstead, winner of the prize Jo Halfacre, from Portland Road Veterinary Surgery in East Grinstead Jo Halfacre, a veterinary surgeon at Portland Road Veterinary Surgery in East Grinstead, has won an iPad Mini and a year's free subscription to online canine clinical reference source Canis after entering a competition at the London Vet Show. Felis' distributor, Vetstream, held the competition to celebrate its 15th birthday. Entrants were invited to answer two questions on feline medicine with the winner of the iPad and a free subscription of the online reference source of their choice picked at random from all the correct responses during January. Commenting, Jo Halfacre said: "I was absolutely thrilled when I found out that I had won the Vetstream competition. The iPad mini could not have come at a better time since my laptop had recently blown up. I selected a year's free subscription to Canis and it's already being put to good use. Thank you Vetstream!" Dr G Mark Johnston, Managing Director of Vetstream, said: "It's great to hear that the subscription is already being used by Jo and her colleagues. Canis contains more than 7,000 articles, pictures, videos and sound and our subscribers tell us they find it very helpful to have access to such a breadth of information, whether they're working on a PC or using a smartphone or tablet on the road. "Together with our other clinical reference services, Equis (horses), Felis (cats) and Lapis (rabbits), Canis is cross-linked to VetMedResource from CABI, and PubMed giving access to abstracts and primary literature to help veterinary staff apply an evidence-based approach to clinical care."
