Nora Schwitzer, dentistry lead at MyVet in Dublin
LEADING ANIMAL HOSPITAL WELCOMES EXPERT IN VETERINARY DENTISTRY

A leading Irish veterinary group has welcomed a seasoned expert in veterinary dentistry following a period of exceptional growth.
Following a major cash injection by owners Linnaeus, MyVet now offers a range of hi-tech equipment, its most recent investment being in a new, state-of-the-art dentistry suite.
Advanced Practitioner Nora Schwitzer brings with her nearly 20 years of experience in the field and will lead MyVet’s new dentistry referral service, which is set to transform the level of care to pets in the region.
Nora graduated as a veterinary surgeon from the Ludwig Maximillian University, in Munich, Germany, in 2003 and after a PhD in lemur ecology in Madagascar, she worked in several small animal first opinion practices in the UK until she moved to Ireland in 2020.
Commenting on her recent appointment, Liam Moriarty, the co-founder of My Vet said: “We are thrilled to have Nora on board and cannot wait to see how she takes our new dentistry referral service forward.
“The quality of her work is highly impressive and her breadth of expertise is excellent. We are lucky to have her as part of our hospital and have no doubt she will help us elevate the standards of dental care we are able to provide our patients.”
Nora says she found her passion in veterinary dentistry early on and embraced the fact that she seemed to have a knack for the profession.
She said: “I have had the privilege to learn under some of the best in the field including Andrew Perry, an EBVS European Veterinary Specialist in Dentistry, and Peter Southerden, AVDC Founding Fellow in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, who lead the dentistry team at another Linnaeus-owned hospital, Eastcott Veterinary Referrals, in Swindon, England.
“Thanks to my experiences and exposure to these other Linnaeus hospitals, I was very aware of the high levels of service provided by them, and so jumped at the opportunity to be a part of another one of its fantastic hospitals.
“I am already extremely happy and excited about what can be done for our patients. The quality of equipment at the practice is second-to-none and it is a breath of fresh air to be part of a hospital that offers such a high-quality and holistic service to its patients – be it a CT, X-rays or access to an onsite laboratory, we’ve it all, making diagnosis and treatment that much faster and more reliable.”
As a seasoned professional, Nora is passionate about growing the veterinary dentistry field in Ireland and is keen to support budding professionals with the right knowledge and tools they need to take their own passions forward.
In addition to her work at the hospital, Nora also regularly lectures at another family-owned veterinary dental company, iM3, providing insights and professional development opportunities to fellow veterinary professionals.
She continued: “I am on a personal mission to not only make dentistry better but also less stressful and scary. I want to be approachable to colleagues and am eager to train aspiring vets to deliver high quality first opinion veterinary dentistry as well as a referral service in Ireland.
“My hope is to build up a highly-qualified and experienced dental team who will be able to offer a unique service to pets everywhere.
“I am really looking to implementing this and am chipping away at it, one extraction at a time!”
