Lintbells’ VN Lucy Completes Great South Run For Guide Dogs

Looking after guide dogs as a senior veterinary nurse inspired Lucy Millett to lace up her trainers and complete the Great South Run in aid of the charity that provides and trains the dogs. Lucy, who lives near Worthing, now works as a Veterinary Business Development Executive for animal nutritional supplements firm Lintbells Ltd, which brings her into contact with veterinary practices across the South East. Commenting on her decision to undertake the 10-mile run in Portsmouth last Sunday (October 28th), Lucy said: “Guide Dogs is a very worthwhile charity that really offers a lifeline to blind and partially sighted people, who rely on their dogs for so much. Working in the veterinary industry I have seen just how vital it is that these dogs stay as healthy as possible and that’s why I took on the challenge of completing the Great South Run to help their work to continue. It was tough but I’m really pleased to have finished.” Lucy (27) started running just over two years ago and also took part in the race, which attracts 25,000 runners, in 2010. Since then she has also participated in sprint triathlons but relished a second chance at the 10 mile distance After crossing the finish line on Sunday Lucy wondered if she should have turned to her company’s products for an extra boost. “Lintbells have just launched a new mobility supplement called Yumove Young & Active which is for dogs that exercise a lot or take part in sports such as agility and flyball,” said Lucy. “But my colleagues joked that I should have taken some of it on the morning of the race.
