A team member from a leading north west animal hospital is putting her best foot forward as she prepares to tackle a mammoth running challenge.

Veterinary nurse Gabriella Hoyle from Linnaeus-owned Northwest Veterinary Specialists (NWVS) in Runcorn will be on the start line of the Manchester Marathon on Sunday, April 16.

Gabriella will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support as she takes on the 26.2 miles in one of the UK’s most popular marathons.

She is running for Macmillan after seeing first-hand the support given to her father-in-law by the charity.

Gabriella, who has been training for the marathon by pounding the streets of Northwich since January, said: “My father-in-law has been through some tough times and it was when he needed extra support that Macmillan was there for him.

“I’ve also seen first-hand how they can help those people battling cancer. They do a fantastic job and I’m proud to be running the Manchester Marathon to support them.”

Prue Neath, clinical director at NWVS, said: “Running a marathon is no mean feat and our respect goes to Gabriella, plus all the other runners, and we’ll be giving them our full support to get across the finish line.”

Anyone wishing to support Gabriella and donate money for Macmillan can visit her JustGiving page.
