A call to vet nurses across the country to submit their cases involving successful treatment of canine osteoarthritis resulted in a sea of entries. The winning case study was submitted by Heather Braunton from Witten Lodge Veterinary Practice in Bideford, Devon. Heather’s case involved a 12-year-old collie named Holly and outlined a treatment plan with a very successful outcome. As a result of Heather’s hard work alongside the veterinary surgeon Holly is enjoying a new lease on life. Heather explained: “Holly has been a most rewarding case to nurse and a lovely dog to treat; always greeting us with a waggy tail and toothy grin.”
Two runners-up have been chosen as Antony Vernau from Colne Valley Vets and Sadie-May Phelan from Langford Veterinary Services.
“There have been some inspiring stories submitted for this competition,” explained Merial Product Manager Claire Edmunds. “We have seen some great work from vet nurses across the country. In many cases, the vet nurse has helped to make a dramatic improvement in the dog’s life. Heather was a worthy winner who played a vital role in helping Holly to lose weight and improve her mobility.” More from
