Interpet Publishing has scheduled the release of Mini Encyclopedia of Rabbit Breeds and Care, by Geoff Russell to coincide with National Rabbit Week. Rabbit Breeds & Care is the fifth in the Mini Encyclopedia series. The books are compact, comprehensive, and easy to consult paperbacks of 208-pages with glossy covers. The new rabbit book gives a short history of rabbits, followed by advice on ‘buying’, ‘feeding’, and ‘housing’ rabbits. Part two focuses on keeping rabbits healthy and happy. Further chapters on ‘showing’ and ‘training’ precede an extensive section profiling rabbit breeds. And at a retail price of just £9.99, this book provides great value for money. Mini Encyclopedia of Rabbit Breeds and Care will be on sale at The Bradford Excel Small Animal Show on the 24/25th January 2009. The show is a spectacular gathering where families can see over 60 breeds of rabbits in one place. The Bradford Excel Small Animal Show is the Crufts of the small animal world and with approximately 3,000 rabbits the show is a perfect venue to launch National Rabbit Week and a new modern rabbit book! The launch of Mini Encyclopedia of Rabbit Breeds and Care could not have come at a more fitting time. The book is ideal for reference. Its profiles of fancy, lop, fur and rex rabbits include pictures of all breeds and a quick reference chart to ‘pet suitability’, ‘good and bad points’, ‘weight’, ‘colours’ and how best to house. The new mini encyclopedia is 185mm x 157mm with 208-pages and 400 colour pictures. The book is wonderfully illustrated, with a balance of copy to images, TIP boxes, lists and bullet points to help the reader focus on the information. A useful glossary of rabbit related terms has been compiled, as well as the names and descriptions of diseases seen in rabbits. From the fluffy beauty of the Angora to the faintly comical appearance of the lop-ears, all major rabbit varieties are covered in the profile area. Each descriptive entry includes a portrait of the appearance, character and temperament as well as details of its country of origin and any descriptive features to coat and colour. Author of Mini Encyclopedia of Rabbit Breeds and Care, Geoff Russell was for many years Britain’s top breeder and exhibitor of the English Lop rabbit. Geoff has also been a British Rabbit Council District advisor and judge. He is well known throughout the rabbit fancy in many parts of the world and writes for numerous magazines. Geoff has also written three books and writes a long-standing column in Fur and Feather magazine. Other Mini Encyclopedia in the series includes The Tropical Aquarium, The Marine Aquarium, Keeping Koi and Dog Training & Behaviour. Publisher Interpet Publishing is the largest publisher in its sector offering many books on the subjects of small animal and rabbits in particular.
