To answer this problem, Alstoe Animal Health has introduced a new way to deliver joint nutrient supplements to horses, without this fear of rejection. Easeflex Equine palatable pellets are alfalfa based and contain high levels of glucosamine hydrochloride and chondroitin sulphate. Glucosamine and chondroitin are important in the production of glycosaminoglycans, and which have chondroprotective properties that aid in the natural renewal of cartilaginous tissue. Easeflex Equine palatable pellets also include MSM (methyl-sulphonyl-methane), a source of bioavailable sulphur, a key component of connective tissue and important in the synthesis of articular cartilage. Antioxidants are also present to help prevent damage by free radicals, as well as the essential trace minerals, copper, zinc and manganese.
This pelleted format including alfalfa, an equine favourite, has been used in the USA for some time and has been shown to be readily accepted by horses, without the need to mix with the feed. Easeflex Equine palatable pellets can be fed to horses, ponies and donkeys of any age.
It is recommended to initially daily feed a double loading quantity for the first four to six weeks, thereafter reducing to a maintenance level or as directed by the veterinary surgeon. The amount of pellets to be fed depends on the weight of the animal, one small scoop containing 28g of pellets can be a daily dose for a horse of up to 450kg. Easeflex Equine palatable pellets are available in 1.7kg and 4.54kg tubs.More from
