The new hospital manager at a leading Staffordshire veterinary referral centre says she is confident it can continue to provide exceptional animal care and further enhance its burgeoning reputation.

Helen Flanagan is excited to take up her new position after joining Linnaeus-owned West Midlands Veterinary Referrals (WMR) in Burton upon Trent in November.

She said: “I am privileged to be working alongside an amazing team of skilled clinicians and support staff and I’m inspired by what lies ahead for us at WMR.

“These are exciting times as we aim to establish WMR as the first-choice referral destination for veterinary primary care practices and their clients across the surrounding area.

“Our goal is to provide exceptional quality pet healthcare, setting out all possible treatment options to clients, providing outstanding service to our customers and unrivalled care for our team, all at the best possible value and in an ethical and sustainable manner.

“We have fantastic facilities offering expert diagnostic imaging and orthopaedic, spinal and soft tissue surgery.

“We also have our own veterinary physiotherapist to deliver tailormade recovery and rehabilitation programmes for our pet patients.

“Our excellent, central location makes WMR easily accessible from all across the region and my aspiration is to elevate the clients’ experience here through compassionate care and efficient streamlined processes.

“As hospital manager, I’m looking forward to motivating and leading the team towards our goals and helping to deliver a clear strategy for the delivery of even more outstanding veterinary care and to become the preferred referral service in the region.”

Helen certainly has the drive, determination and stamina for the task ahead as she’s a keen long-distance runner who has completed two marathons and frequently competes in half marathons.

She will be working closely with WMR’s hospital director James Stout in a dynamic new partnership that’s committed to further enhancing the leading referral centre’s first-class service and reputation.

WMR provides a wide range of high standard veterinary services delivered by experienced clinicians and supported by state-of-the-art facilities to facilitate accurate diagnosis and treatment.
