Pet Blood Bank UK provides a national canine blood bank open to all UK veterinary practitioners and they are in the process of developing a feline blood bank too...
Just like the human blood service, Pet Blood Bank collects blood from donors at organised collection sessions. The blood is taken to a state of the art processing unit in Loughborough and is then processed into packed red blood cells and fresh plasma and supplied to veterinary practices across the UK.
NKR Veterinary Specialists support the Pet Blood Bank's mission by being a blood sharing practice. Both our Kent and Surrey branches share blood with other vets 24-7, this gives more pets more access to life saving blood products when they need it.
